In April 2011, one of the largest tornado outbreaks ever recorded caused damage from Alabama through Southern Virginia. The site comprised of five buildings, all of which sustained damage. The main production building was 70% destroyed.
URI was called to respond to a fiberglass tank manufacturing facility near Bristol, VA.
URI mechanical and construction teams redeployed production machinery.
Field service technicians designed and constructed a custom storage mezzanine, and process retrieval system in order to resume production in a building one third the original size.
The company was the first large facility to resume production in the local disaster area.
